Honkai Star Rail Downloading Too Slow? Here's What You Need to Do

The installation went on without problems and while downloading the assets the download speed went up to 3+ MB/s (which is the limit of my wifi's speed). But ever since then whenever there's an update the download speed is just absurdly awful. It doesn't even go higher than 8 kb/s. Even worse, sometimes it gets UNDER 1 kb/s so I'm downloading bits per second. It's not a problem related to my wifi because I can download other stuff just fine.

Many players are very excited about Genshin Impact, and for good reason. Despite its free to play nature, it seems to offer a lot of what gamers love right now, including an open world environment to explore and a voice acted story. Unfortunately, many are unable to experience all of those wonderful things due to an abysmally slow download speeds.

why does honkai star rail download so slow

Download apk:

Before getting to play, potential Genshin Impact players will need to download the game first. This doesn't sound like it should be all that difficult, but it is taking some players incredible lengths of time just to download the 15GB game.

This is obviously a huge pain, but thankfully, some players have found an easy workaround to this. For those experiencing download times under 1MB/second, simply pausing and restarting the download may be the fix that is needed. Several of those already playing Genshin Impact have reported that this solved the problem, bringing the total download time to something much more manageable.

On the same principle, closing out of the launcher entirely and reopening it seems to have positive results for some, and if even that doesn't work, players may just need to delete the application and start the download over again. It's currently unclear what is causing these terrible download speeds, but it is likely something server side given how many people are experiencing issues. With any luck, Genshin Impact developer miHoYo will fix this issue soon so that players don't have to jump through hoops to play its game, but the developer has not made any comment on the issue yet.

I bought some power line adapters the other day from Tesco for 30quid, passthrough also so done lose a socket, but well worth the investment if you're not way near your router, my gaming has been perfect since, downloads are so much quicker in rest mode. I have multiple accounts on my PS4 so I have a login screen with a password so the boy can't get on my account and on that screen it will download loads quicker once you start a game that's not even online say bye bye to connection, rest mode for the win for downloads

Honestly though, I have 350mbps broadband and my games are downloading at 40-50mbs.The Ps4 does not have issues with download speeds and as far as I'm concerned my 40-50mbps download speed is exactly what my connection is supposed to give.

The pause/resume is usually just you connecting to a different data center. I don't think Sony does anything to load balance their connections, so sometimes you'll just connect to a 'slow' data center. I used to run a proxy server that would monitor the speeds of 3 different data centers and route my download traffic to the fastest (blacklisting the slow ones). Seems like overkill, but when I was getting 0.1MBps on my GIGABIT connection, it seemed pretty important.

Changing the DNS won't affect download speeds anyways. It only affects DNS returns which COULD have a minuscule effect on speed of the initial request to download. With normal/standard downloads, you aren't sending DNS queries when downloading files after your initial inquiry. . I still recommend everyone use for privacy/security concerns. Plus, it's still one of if not the fastest DNS resolver out there. It will make your web browser feel snappier/faster, but it won't make your downloads any faster/slower really.

Ask a PS4 owner what annoys them most about their PS4 and chances are they'll say the slow download speeds. With games getting bigger and bigger, some well in excess of 50 GB in size, slow download speeds on the PS4 are a real problem. In this guide to improve your PS4's download speed we'll go over the ways you can actually increase your PS4 download speed, and suggest some methods that have a high chance of success - and others that have worked for some people but might be rather anecdotal. If you're looking for ways to increase your PS4's internet speed, this is the guide for you. If PSN download speeds are getting you down, read on.

We'll detail these solutions to slow PS4 download speeds in the sections that follow, along with other ideas that have been known to improve matters. If you're finding your PSN download speeds are slow, follow our guide and hopefully you'll be downloading the latest games quicker than ever before.

You might have been paying for the same old internet connection for years. While standard broadband is decent and more than good enough for basic web browsing, if you're trying to download huge files via your PS4, that speed is going to be very slow.

This one falls into the 'has helped some people' category, and does require some tinkering in the settings of your PS4. It has been reported that changing your DNS settings to use Google's DNS server increases PS4 download speed. If you want to give it a try, follow our steps below:

This is one of the anecdotal PS4 slow download speed solutions, so give it a try by all means but don't bank on it doing wonders. If you place your PS4 into Rest Mode you can sometimes get faster download speeds.

If you see your PS4 download ticking along at an annoyingly low speed, we've found that pausing it and resuming it can result in a better download speed. We're not sure if there's any logical reason for this, but it does seem to work. Simply access your downloads from your notifications (found if you scroll up to the top on the PS4 home screen) and then hit X on the controller when you've highlighted the download that you want to pause. Then press X again to resume the download.

I can only assume that the 5 has no such capability? It seems to be able to download one thing at a time with all other pending downloads set to a ''Queued' status (mmm, very PS3)? More irritating than that is the fact that when the PS5 has finished downloading the one item, it then doesn't seem to take the next item out of the 'Queued' status and download that - you have to go into the press PS button->Downloads section and give it a kick.

That sounds odd. Yes it does do it one at a time, but it does it very quickly and then moves onto the next. I have a fast broadband but at times it seems to push beyond my limit running beyond my gigabyte internet norm. However - I did find the wifi connection seems to be slower, certainly not wifi6, so maybe try using an ethernet and see if that improves it?

The transfer times do seem to be a little slower but it's the inability to carry on downloading that is the most irksome part. I was downloading Immortals: Fenyx Rising, the PS5 edition, and it even queued the DLC as the main application was downloading but then didn't download the DLC; all elements were stuck at 'Queued' and I had to manually intervene and tell each DLC to download.

3. Slow game startup and freezing at loading. It is not recommended to open more than 2 games or applications at the same time.If your computer uses a mechanical hard drive, the game may start slower and occupy a high RAM/CPU.If the game is too slow to start for the first time after installation, it is recommended to close the game and restart it directly.

6. Game download problem. If you can't download the game you want in Google Store (prompting device incompatibility), we suggest downloading it from a third-party download site and installing it locally. (such as apkpure)Note: MuMu Player 11 is only available in the x64 version, if some games are only supported in the x86 version, they will not run on MuMu Player 11. It is recommended to use MuMu Player 6.While the game is downloading, the emulator may occupy your bandwidth exclusively, which may slow down the network speed of other programs. It is recommended to wait for the game to finish downloading or for free time before downloading large games.

8. Browser Chrome issues. The default browser of MuMu Player 11 is Chrome. At the moment, it does not support downloading game installation packages (apk, xapk, etc.) in Chrome, so it is recommended to download and install locally in your computer's browser.

If that doesn't work, you can also try exiting the launcher entirely and restarting it. Again, you won't lose any download progress, but there's a good chance you'll see slightly improved speeds. If you don't, keep trying to pause or exit the download a few more times. It seems completely random: Sometimes the download would be much worse, other times it'd pick up speed. Either way, Genshin Impact is only a 15GB download, so it won't take too long if you manage to get it higher than 1MB/s.

What's unclear, however, is what is causing such slow downloads in the first place. Genshin Impact is developed by MiHoYo, which is based in Shanghai. If the servers are also located there, that could explain it. Though the game feels like it came out of the blue, it's also possible that there's just too many people trying to download it right now and the servers are at capacity. Either way, give the above advice a shot and see if it helps. We'll update this story if we find more tips.
